7 Cautions of Possessions

1  Use Caution: a mans life does not consist in his possessions.  Luke 12:13

  • No matter how great our acquisition on earth, it only has value if used.
  • The acquisition of power is insatiable

2  Materialism and consumerism is a matter of the heart

  • When you believe bigger, better, and newer will you make you happy, it has become rooted in your heart.

3.  Anxiety is often connected to materialism.

4.  Where your treasure is.....

5.  Contentment is far greater than wealth.

  • 1 Timothy 6:6-10

  • Contentment means enough

6 Guides for Giving

1. First Fruit 

  • (Ex 34:26, Num 18:12, 1 Cor 16)

2. Give Regularly and proportionately 

  • Acts 11:29

3. Begin with 10 percent

4. Give Cheerfully

5. Increase giving before standard of living

6. Stewardship is the eternal expression of delayed gratification
