“Breaking the Finacial Curse” INTRODUCTION: The scripture is very clear in both the Old and New Testaments that everything belongs to God. As the owner of everything, God has made each of us stewards or managers of His possessions. The scripture is very clear that as managers, God say’s everything is mine, but I will give it to you and all I ask back is the tithe and offerings. Failure to obey God in bringing the tithe and offerings to the storehouse brings a financial curse upon the individual. The focus of today’s sermon is not how the church can get more money but how to break the financial curse so you and your family can be blessed and experience debt free living. It all begins with bringing the tithe into the storehouse and then being good stewards of the 90%. I. The Financial Curse is birthed due to: A. Your Philosophy of ownership i. Greek (common ownership) B. Poor Decisions i. Disobedience “I worked for my pay check and no one is going to tell me how to spend it. II. Breaking the Curse A. Identification: God Owns it All (My Place as a Steward) i. Owner (God) B. Involvement (My Role as a Steward) i. Obedience “I will faithfully bring the tithe” C. Investment (My Action as a Steward) - “I will invest by bringing my tithe and offerings to the storehouse” i. Placing the tithe anywhere else other than the “storehouse” is the same as not payig the tithe. CONCLUSION: Be a New Testament Giver: 1. Give from your heart |
